Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore Theory

 Ideal for candidates for the Coastal Skipper practical course & Yachmaster Offshore exam. Some revision of the Day Skipper shorebased course plus more advanced skills in offshore & coastal navigation by day & night, pilotage & meteorology. 

Knowledge to Day Skipper Shorebased Standard

Position fixing, course shaping and plotting, tidal knowledge, use of almanacs and admiralty publications, electronic position finding equipment, taking and interpretting forecasts, plotting weather systems, weather predictions using a barometer. We will also cover the IPRCS and cover yacht stability and overall safety onboard. 

minimum 40 hours plus exam. This is typically done over a period of 6 days from Sunday to Friday. During the week, there will typically be three different exams. 

 All course materials including RYA Yachtmaster Theory course notes.

Includes Plotter and dividers. 

Tea and coffee throughout the day.
