RYA powerboat level 1

A one day introduction to Powerboating with no previous experience required.  Primarily but not exclusively a youth powerboat course. 

RYA Powerboat Level 1 Provides a practical introduction to boat handling and safety in powerboats. It covers 

1. Slow speed boat handling, including figure of eights, picking up moorings and coming alongside pontoons.  
2. High Speed boat handling, including Man Overboard drills, high speed turns and safety.
3.  the use of safety equipment, including personal safety and safety equipment on the boat, anchoring. 

The course will be run in our 7.8M Ribcraft which is a very safe, performance boat widely used in the industry. 

The RYA Powerboat Level 1 course is a one day course which runs from 09.00 - 17.00 with an hour for lunch. we do need a minimum of 2 people to run the course and we limit the numbers to 3 students to one instructor. This guarantees high quality tuition and plenty of time on the wheel. 

This is an on water course and there are no specific theory or classroom based sessions. 

No Previous experience is required.  For the best experience we recommend all participants are over the height of 1.5 metres. All participants must be aged 12 and above.

These courses are specifically aimed at those between the ages of 12-16 OR families wanting a days tuition.

Level 1 can be arranged at most weekends or throughout school holidays.

Full details will be provided at time of booking but we will provide the safety equipment such as life jackets, participants are asked to bring warm clothes and a waterproof top as it can get a bit chilly on the water.
