
This qualification allows you to work commercially up to 20 miles from a safe harbour by day or night.
It is a separate course from the advanced course and run by an RYA examiner

This is a high level exam which requires a high degree of personal ability.
Look at the advanced course as introducing the skills and giving you an understanding of night navigation, where as the advanced CoC exam requires you to demonstrate a high degree of competency. Practice will almost certainly be required in-between the course and the exam.
Personal boat handling skills will need to be to a high level, mooring in a variety of spots with no problem whatever the conditions.
Your personal knowledge of navigation will be at or above the level of yacht master theory.

The exam is run by an RYA Trainer examiner and not by Weymouth Powerboat Training although we can arrange dates, times and boats.
Approximate Timings, 1 candidate - 4-5 hours. 2 candidates 5-6 hours 3 candidates 6-7 hours
Costs £230 per person plus expenses for the examiner
RIB use - 1 candidate £175. 2 candidates £90 each 3 candidates £75 each
You are able to use your own boat as long as it is capable of over 12 knots and coded to the relevant MCA level
