Provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the international certificate of competence.

During the RYA Level 2 course in Weymouth you will cover
Preparation
Safety Equipment, personal equipment, launch and recovery, line handling.
Boat Handling
Effects of current or tide, high and low speed manoeuvres, picking up a mooring, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside a pontoon or jetty, Man Overboard
Theory and Background
Types of craft and engines, basic maintenance checks, IRPCS (rules of the road) weather forecasts, Emergency action.
This is a two day RYA powerboat level 2 course and runs from 09.00 - 17.00 with an hour for lunch. We need a minimum of 2 people to run the course and we limit the numbers to 3 students to one instructor. This guarantees high quality tuition and plenty of time on the wheel. There is also the option to do 1-1 to fit your diary or own boat tuition.
This course involves a mix of theory and water based sessions which will be influenced by the weather and conditions on the course.

Full details on your course will be provided at time of booking but we will provide all the safety equipment such as life jackets. Participants are asked to bring warm clothes and a waterproof top as it can get a bit chilly on the water.
